Objective
The objective is to design a product that is environmentally conscious. Meaning that the product that is purchased would not have its purchased container be discarded. Thus the packaging that it comes in and with would be used in conjunction with the product being purchased.
Process
For this project, I designed a pressure point ball as my product of purchase. The packaging would be a container that is used to store the ball when not in use. This will complete the objective of the project. A fitness pressure point ball with a carrying case. The material that went into designing this project was basic. I got my supplies from a local art store consisting of rope. I got a pressure point fitness ball from a local fitness store. I designed, printed, and cut the initial packaging. I used card stock to reinforce the packaging.
Outcome
For the first time, I can appreciate the work that goes into design packaging process, and the level of detail involved. The most important skill I learned was to rely on measurements. Having to work in dimensions of 3d really helps me properly plan for future design within the packaging and much more.
